Confidentiality Form Problem Solved
The BHEA met with the principal of the middle school to discuss a confidentialy form teachers there were told to sign. The principal said she was away at the time of the incident and said she wanted the matter resolved. She gave Dan Gray and Bill Mooney the signed forms to destroy. The teacher code of ethics covers matters of confidentiality and the forms were not necessary. The BHEA agreed to meet with the principal informally if future issues arise in the building.

BHEA Gets Dismissed Teacher Reinstated
A teacher who had been dismissed at the end of the 2005 - 2006 school year returned to his classroom this September with all benefits restored. The teacher had been dismissed due to a lack of certification in his subject area. The BHEA grieved his dismissal and was able to prove the teacher was in fact certified through 2009. The grievance was resolved at Level 2 through an agreement negotiated by BHEA Executive Secretary Bill Mooney and the BHRSD superintendent that returned the teacher to the classroom and guaranteed the teacher would be recertified by the 2009 date.
